After checking in to our hotel, we changed clothes and headed back out. We drove to a restaurant recommended by the front desk staff and drove by The Citadel on the way. We also drove by this landmark:
I'm not sure what this building is, but it looked very Nova Scotia-ish:
This is our restaurant on Lower Water Street (though this entrance is on a different street). It's called McKelvie's and their specialty is seafood. One of their mottos is "Your fish is our command." Their promotion tagline is "Delicious Fishes Dishes". hahaha. Karen ordered the halibut special and I ordered potato encrusted haddock. Our cute waiter convinced us to get dessert and because he had been so efficient in taking our order and getting us our meal, we had time to spare so we split a white chocolate cheesecake with strawberry - kiwi sauce. It was delicious. Karen said it tasted just like hers. It's time to travel to Richmond again!
The reason for all this rushing around is that we had tickets to the Halifax Comedy Fest. It's a 3-day festival with lots of comedic performances. Our tickets were for a show at the Casino Nova Scotia. It featured 8 different comedians (and comediennes) who each had 10 minutes. The whole thing was hosted by Caroline Rhea whom Karen and I both enjoy. And the evening was being videoed for a CBC comedy show. Look for us on a television near you! We laughed a lot. It was a really great evening. Some of them used foul language but many did not and only one got really graphic/gross. I was impressed.
