We had to pull out the dictionary reading the Lonely Planet guides to where we were going, but we did enjoy them. Here's what they said about Saint John: "A gritty working port town, Saint John has an active sense of preservation and heritage without being overly gentrified."
We arrived in Saint John around 3:30 Atlantic Time. Lee, our GPS (actually, that's the name of the Australian accent that Karen has chosen to read aloud the directions as we go, but she's given the moniker to the machine), got us lost going to the Moosehead Brewery Gift Shop. They don't give tours of the brewery anymore, but we thought the gift shop could be fun.
Maybe not so much. A few t-shirts and sweatshirts but nothing too original or fun. Not even a good moose head photo opportunity. Oh well. We crossed the street to get some Canadian money from the ATM and headed on from there.
