Maybe they're not too wild since they're right here on the side of the road and one of them has a tracking collar on. But we were excited to see these elk (even though at the time we weren't even sure what they were) and try our hand at "wildlife photography." If there had been a buck with this little herd, we would've known right away the herd was elk. How come we only recognize the male animals? Why don't the females get recognized, too? Hmmmm.
