Athabasca Falls Part 1

We are driving along the Icefield Parkway and ahead to the left in the distance we can see what looks like smoke rising. Or is it steam? What is it?? We are getting closer and there are no emergency vehicles. The source is off to the side of the road, maybe 200 yards. What is it?! As we approach, we notice a road to the left. Turn there! Turn there! Well whatever it is, they intend for people to come see it, so we follow the road to a parking lot and while driving through the lot see a sign that says "Athabasca Falls." Water falls? What do they have to do with all that white stuff? We could just drive on, it's getting late. But we chance it and park and get out. The path is flat and wide...handicap accessible means good walking for me. The path meanders for a while and then there's a lookout vantage point. At the end of the walkout you can see these immense, fast-flowing, noisy waterfalls with incredible mist rising from them. Now at least we've solved the mystery of the white stuff rising. But who cares...these falls are mesmorizing. Wait! And there's even a rainbow! Who could ask for more?!
