5/31/08-3 Driving to DC

Cathy left before the parade, then after the parade and event in the chapel, three cars left for DC: Robin and Susanne in Robin's car (Robin lives in the DC area; Susanne flew in from Tulsa . . . she is an Episcopal priest [Judy D., Robin, and I all went to her ordination in Tulsa last summer] and is performing the ceremony tonight), Judy D. and Sherri in Sherri's car (Judy D. flew in to BWI from Phoenix), and Betsey and me in Betsey's car (Betsey lives in Bethesda and I flew in from Manchester, NH). We didn't caravan since we all were heading to different spots in the DC area. I had a blast spending time with Betsey on that car ride. It started to rain but that didn't slow us down too much. When we stopped for gas, I was going to run into the convenience store and Betsey was going to quickly fill the tank. We opened the doors to hop out but there was no running or hopping for these two! We had stiffened up sitting in the car that we looked like two REALLY old ladies getting out. More laughter. We laughed a lot this whole trip.
