8/19/08 Jellystone Park in Sturbridge, Mass.

Hank was coming to New York on Wednesday afternoon, so to make sure we could get to the airport on time, we moved our camping from Maine to Sturbridge, Mass. We stayed at a Jellystone Park. It's a LOT more commercial than a state park and we probably won't do it again, but we were glad to have had the experience.

The streets in Jellystone Park are all named for things from the Yogi Bear cartoon show. There was Cindy Lane and Picnic Basket Street to name a few. We were on Ranger Road. We were the ONLY ones on Ranger Road. The other streets had lots and lots of campers on them, including some who were obviously staying for weeks or longer. We were guessing that Ranger Road was reserved for people just staying for one night and on a Tuesday night, we were the only ones staying for one night. It actually made it quite pleasant for us.
