This place is magical! Jazz Brunch was such a brilliant idea. The weather was gorgeous. The wisteria was in full bloom, the live music was perfect, and the food was out of this world. See what looks like confetti on our table? It's wisteria blooms. They just gently fell from above the entire time
Live jazz music at the jazz brunch...these guys were just two tables away from us, loud enough to be heard, but not so loud that we couldn't have fabulous conversation over our delicious meal.
The gang's all here (and Mary, too). I thought napkins on the water glasses was an interesting centerpiece, until I realized it helped keep the wisteria out of the water...it's beautiful and functional.
Wisteria is blooming overhead, creating a beautiful shade arbor.
There was so much food!! A long cold food bar (salads and desserts and of course, boiled Gulf shrimp and crawfish), an incredible assortment of hot food, this "cooked-to-order" station (best Eggs Benedict ever). A carving table with ham and roast beef opened up later in the morning. Everything was delicious and most of it was very Southern, Cajun, or Louisianan (if that's a word).
King Cake! I didn't see any plastic baby's in there but there is plenty of green, yellow, and purple sugar.
This doesn't really capture it, but it's as close as I can get with a photo... lots of people enjoying this picture perfect day under the wisteria. Our advice to you if you come: make your Sunday morning reservation for 10:00. By 11:00 the place was packed and the wait for food was inconveniently long.
