7/6/2011 Chateau Frontenac

The Chateau Frontenac (now a Fairmont Hotel) *IS* Old Quebec City. It is the focal point and in terms of history, it really is the start of Old Quebec. So if you're going to Old Quebec, even if you can't afford it, you gotta spend at least one night at The Chateau. And so we are. First night!!

It's not ostentatious but it is elegant. It is indeed everything they said it would be and everything you think it should be.

Even the elevators (and there are a lot of elevators) are elegant in every detail.

My favorite feature!! Every good hotel has one of these. :-)

There is so much to explore in this hotel. Tomorrow we're taking a tour. :-)
