I knew Saturns were made in Tennessee, but I didn't know KIAs were made in Georgia. But here you go . . . we saw it for ourselves.

We are listening to Journey on our journey. :-) and thank goodness for great apps for the iPad: GPA Drive Motion X (great GPS with voice) and AllStays Camp and RV (GPS and map that shows truck stops for diesel fuel, low clearances, parks and campgrounds, rest stops, and more of your choosing).

Atlanta skyline: We are just driving through, not stopping. We also drove by ATL which both of us have seen many times...but only from the inside when changing planes.
In Atlanta, we drove under 7 bridges that had fire trucks on them...lights flashing and fire fighters standing around looking down on the passing traffic. What's that about? Nothing came up in our Google searches. Maybe they heard Thelma and Louise were driving through.

Time to refuel. What in the world do these options mean? We just need diesel. (Thankfully a friendly trucker told KMO to pick tractor and so far that's worked out fine.)
Thankfully that's not our bill. Can you imagine 100+ gallons? (Our bill, however, was 100+ dollars.)

6/14/2011 Gas Prices
I rarely keep up with the news or read a paper, but in our hotel, they have USA available for free, so I took one with me to read. This headline was interesting, but the graphic was even more interesting. Of all the cities in the United States, they picked 3 to put in this graphic ("infographic" as they call them now) to demonstrate "Extreme Gas Prices" and one of them is the city where we just bought gas! We didn't pay $3.20 as they show, but gas is definitely coming down from the $3.97 I paid right before leaving Maine.
